The Colombian authorities for the control of roads and traffic said that about 7 million cars have moved throughout Colombia this month of Christmas festivities. The number of traffic accidents have been reduced this year also with only 227 incidents, said the report.
Most of the traffic accidents have been of motorbikes and 90 persons have been reported dead in all the country. The Colombian regions with more accidents by December 2008 were by order Valle del Cauca, Cundinamarca, North Coast and Magdalena Medio.
Bogotá, with the biggest number of inhabitants in the country, was the main center of departure of travelers to other Colombian regions, especially between 26th and 27th of December with about 40 thousand passengers. January 12 will be the return of most of the national travelers, according with the autorities reports.
