Sihanoukville – August 25, 2007 (Khmer) – 1,819 youth coming from most of the Cambodian provinces, came to Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville to apply for the Don Bosco Technical Schools this week. In Phnom Penh were interviewed 1,400 applicants while in the city port Don Bosco interviewed 419 boys and girls. Boys from provinces like Banteay Meanchey, Siem Riep, Stueng Streng, Svay Rieng and Koh Kong came even until Sihanoukville willing to join the two years technical skill studies in order to get best opportunities for job in Cambodia. The Don Bosco Technical Schools offer skill courses like electricity, mechanic, auto mechanic, secretariat, hotel and tourism and social communication. While Don Bosco Phnom Penh, located in the Phnom Penh Tmey District, welcome youth from all the country, Don Bosco Sihanoukville has its influence in the south of Cambodia, although some youth come from other provinces. The youth have to do an exam this current Saturday. Don Bosco chose especially teenagers aged 16-21, 9th grade and from poor and marginalized conditions, according with the policies of this national and international institution in coordination with the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
